# NoteNerd vs soundbite

The clearest difference is rating: soundbite at 5.0 against NoteNerd's 4.4. soundbite also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). NoteNerd's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoteNerd sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and soundbite sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

soundbite holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteNerd has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

NoteNerd ships an update every 2 weeks, soundbite every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
