# Metis vs DIY Note

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DIY Note at none against Metis's 1. DIY Note also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Metis's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Metis sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. DIY Note asks for nothing beyond the download.

Metis ships an update fortnightly, DIY Note every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
