# IELTS Prep Assistant vs IELTS

The clearest difference is update cadence: IELTS Prep Assistant at every 2 weeks against IELTS's every 3 months. IELTS Prep Assistant also leads on iOS requirement (12.2 vs 17). IELTS's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IELTS Prep Assistant sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and IELTS sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IELTS Prep Assistant ships an update every 2 weeks, IELTS every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
