# Redact Privacy vs Blur Text

The clearest difference is update cadence: Redact Privacy at weekly against Blur Text's every 3 months. Redact Privacy also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 7). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Redact Privacy sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Blur Text sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Redact Privacy against 4.4 for Blur Text. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Redact Privacy has 1.6K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Redact Privacy ships an update weekly, Blur Text every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
