# PolyChat vs Mio

The clearest difference is ads: Mio at none against PolyChat's shown. Mio also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks). PolyChat's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (229 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PolyChat sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and Mio sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PolyChat holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PolyChat has 229 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of PolyChat's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PolyChat ships an update every 2 weeks, Mio every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
