# Steps Counter vs WalkMeOut

The clearest difference is rating: Steps Counter at 4.6 against WalkMeOut's 4.0. Steps Counter also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (294 vs 1). WalkMeOut's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steps Counter sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year and WalkMeOut sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Steps Counter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Steps Counter has 294 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Steps Counter ships an update monthly, WalkMeOut every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
