# Light vs Torch

The clearest difference is ads: Light at none against Torch's shown. Light also leads on ratings volume (161 vs 23). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Light sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Torch sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Light against 4.7 for Torch. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Light has 161 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 84% of Light's written reviews are positive against 80% of Torch's.

Light ships an update every 2 weeks, Torch every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
