# Unlimited VPN vs Lockwell

The clearest difference is rating: Unlimited VPN at 4.8 against Lockwell's 4.2. Unlimited VPN also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 5). Lockwell's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and review sentiment (67% vs 57%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Unlimited VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Unlimited VPN has 1.2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Unlimited VPN's written reviews are positive against 67% of Lockwell's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
