# Wellnote vs Noteshelf

The clearest difference is monetization model: Wellnote at free against Noteshelf's free with in-app purchases. Wellnote also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 57%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). Noteshelf's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (7.2K vs 963). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wellnote sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Noteshelf sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wellnote holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Noteshelf has 7.2K ratings behind it against 963, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of Wellnote's written reviews are positive against 57% of Noteshelf's.

Wellnote ships an update fortnightly, Noteshelf every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
