# Spark vs Ukiyo

The clearest difference is rating: Spark at 2.9 against Ukiyo's 1.0. Spark also leads on ratings volume (203 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Ukiyo's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (paid vs subscription). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spark sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Ukiyo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spark holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spark has 203 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 4% of Spark's written reviews are positive against 0% of Ukiyo's.

Spark ships an update every 3 weeks, Ukiyo every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
