# Met Opera vs BASEMENT NY

The clearest difference is monetization model: BASEMENT NY at free against Met Opera's free with in-app purchases. Met Opera's advantage is ratings volume (4.2K vs 9). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Met Opera against 5.0 for BASEMENT NY. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Met Opera has 4.2K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Met Opera ships an update fortnightly, BASEMENT NY every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
