# Camo Studio vs CamX

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Camo Studio at none against CamX's 4. Camo Studio also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 295). CamX's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (68% vs 51%). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CamX sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year. Camo Studio asks for nothing beyond the download.

Camo Studio holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Camo Studio has 2.6K ratings behind it against 295, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Camo Studio's written reviews are positive against 68% of CamX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Camo Studio ships an update every 3 months, CamX every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
