# Hotshot vs Pickup

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hotshot at 50% against Pickup's 0%. Hotshot also leads on rating (3.0 vs 2.2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months). Pickup's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hotshot holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pickup has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Hotshot's written reviews are positive against 0% of Pickup's.

Hotshot ships an update weekly, Pickup every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
