# Timer® vs MillisecondTimer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Timer® at none against MillisecondTimer's 3. Timer® also leads on ratings volume (38 vs 6). MillisecondTimer's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 11 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MillisecondTimer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.00 per month. Timer® asks for nothing beyond the download.

MillisecondTimer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timer® has 38 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.
