# mmmarcus vs Philo

The clearest difference is rating: Philo at 5.0 against mmmarcus's 4.5. Philo also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 83%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. mmmarcus sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Philo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Philo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Philo has 11 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 83% of mmmarcus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Philo's.

mmmarcus ships an update every 10 days, Philo every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
