# Sidebar | Fast Notes vs Clipboard

The clearest difference is monetization model: Clipboard at free against Sidebar | Fast Notes's paid. Clipboard also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Sidebar | Fast Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Sidebar | Fast Notes against 5.0 for Clipboard. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sidebar | Fast Notes has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sidebar | Fast Notes ships an update every 3 months, Clipboard fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
