# Magic Eraser vs Inpaint

The clearest difference is rating: Magic Eraser at 4.3 against Inpaint's 1.0. Magic Eraser also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (36 vs 1). Inpaint's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 17%). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magic Eraser sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Inpaint sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Magic Eraser holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic Eraser has 36 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Magic Eraser's written reviews are positive against 50% of Inpaint's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Magic Eraser ships an update every 5 days, Inpaint every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
