# Varsity Central vs Go

The clearest difference is rating: Go at 5.0 against Varsity Central's 4.6. Go also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Varsity Central's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Go holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Varsity Central has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Varsity Central ships an update fortnightly, Go every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
