# Fire Captain vs Genius Inc.

The clearest difference is rating: Fire Captain at 4.2 against Genius Inc.'s 3.6. Fire Captain also leads on ratings volume (70 vs 8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Genius Inc.'s advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 26%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fire Captain sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Genius Inc. sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fire Captain holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fire Captain has 70 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Fire Captain's written reviews are positive against 67% of Genius Inc.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fire Captain ships an update weekly, Genius Inc. every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
