# Scoolinary vs Picky Chefs

Scoolinary and Picky Chefs both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Picky Chefs's written reviews are positive against 61% of Scoolinary's. Picky Chefs also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Scoolinary's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (171 vs 5). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scoolinary sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Picky Chefs sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Scoolinary against 5.0 for Picky Chefs. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scoolinary has 171 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of Scoolinary's written reviews are positive against 100% of Picky Chefs's.

Scoolinary ships an update fortnightly, Picky Chefs every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
