# Music Tracker vs Vinyl Notes

The clearest difference is price: Music Tracker at Free against Vinyl Notes's $3.99. Music Tracker also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months). Vinyl Notes's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (100% vs 66%). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Music Tracker is free to download; Vinyl Notes costs $3.99 up front. Music Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Vinyl Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.

Music Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Music Tracker has 51 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Music Tracker's written reviews are positive against 100% of Vinyl Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Music Tracker ships an update fortnightly, Vinyl Notes every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
