# PicStar vs Pixie・AI Portrait・Avatar Maker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PicStar at 81% against Pixie・AI Portrait・Avatar Maker's 10%. Pixie・AI Portrait・Avatar Maker's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.4) and ads (none vs shown). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PicStar sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Pixie・AI Portrait・Avatar Maker sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pixie・AI Portrait・Avatar Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 60 and 155 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of PicStar's written reviews are positive against 10% of Pixie・AI Portrait・Avatar Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PicStar ships an update every 2 weeks, Pixie・AI Portrait・Avatar Maker weekly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
