# The FireBible vs Bible Word Study

The clearest difference is monetization model: Bible Word Study at freemium against The FireBible's subscription. Bible Word Study also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). The FireBible's advantage is review sentiment (79% vs 64%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The FireBible sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and Bible Word Study sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bible Word Study holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bible Word Study has 2.3K ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of The FireBible's written reviews are positive against 64% of Bible Word Study's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The FireBible ships an update every 2 months, Bible Word Study weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
