# Material Cutting vs InfoMate

The clearest difference is update cadence: InfoMate at every 2 months against Material Cutting's every 7 months. InfoMate also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Material Cutting sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and InfoMate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.00 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Material Cutting ships an update every 7 months, InfoMate every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
