# DogJournal vs 6Traffic

The clearest difference is ads: DogJournal at none against 6Traffic's shown. DogJournal also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). 6Traffic's advantage is update cadence (every 4 months vs every 17 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DogJournal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and 6Traffic sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DogJournal ships an update every 17 months, 6Traffic every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
