# 智谱清言 vs StepFun

The clearest difference is rating: StepFun at 4.3 against 智谱清言's 3.4. 智谱清言's advantage is ratings volume (45 vs 8) and review sentiment (59% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 智谱清言 sells 24 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and StepFun sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepFun holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 智谱清言 has 45 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of 智谱清言's written reviews are positive against 50% of StepFun's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

智谱清言 ships an update every 4 days, StepFun every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
