# X vs VPN proxy

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: X at none against VPN proxy's 4. X also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). VPN proxy's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN proxy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. X asks for nothing beyond the download.

X ships an update every 6 months, VPN proxy every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
