# Z vs Grug Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Grug Notes at 5.0 against Z's 4.0. Grug Notes also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (23 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Z sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Grug Notes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Z ships an update every 2 months, Grug Notes every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
