# SRAssist vs MapGenie

The clearest difference is rating: MapGenie at 4.8 against SRAssist's 2.5. MapGenie also leads on ratings volume (157 vs 11) and review sentiment (43% vs 29%). SRAssist's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 17 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SRAssist sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MapGenie holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MapGenie has 157 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 29% of SRAssist's written reviews are positive against 43% of MapGenie's.

SRAssist ships an update every 3 weeks, MapGenie every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
