# Data Transfer vs Where

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Data Transfer at none against Where's 1. Data Transfer also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Where's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Where sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Data Transfer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Data Transfer ships an update every 5 months, Where every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
