# Hitreads vs WritePad

The clearest difference is update cadence: WritePad at every 6 days against Hitreads's every 5 weeks. Hitreads's advantage is iOS requirement (15.2 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hitreads sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and WritePad sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
