# Driver vs CarUp

Driver and CarUp both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of CarUp's written reviews are positive against 46% of Driver's. CarUp also leads on iOS requirement (15 vs 17.0). Driver's advantage is ratings volume (528 vs 6) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Driver against 4.2 for CarUp. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Driver has 528 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 46% of Driver's written reviews are positive against 100% of CarUp's.

Driver ships an update weekly, CarUp every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
