# Shockbot vs Crunchyroll

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Shockbot at 50% against Crunchyroll's 0%. Shockbot also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (20 vs 2). Crunchyroll's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shockbot sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Crunchyroll sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $13.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Crunchyroll holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shockbot has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Shockbot's written reviews are positive against 0% of Crunchyroll's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shockbot ships an update every 6 days, Crunchyroll every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
