# Rocket VPN vs Good Maps

The clearest difference is rating: Good Maps at 4.0 against Rocket VPN's 3.5. Good Maps also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Rocket VPN's advantage is ratings volume (125 vs 4) and review sentiment (17% vs 0%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Good Maps holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rocket VPN has 125 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Rocket VPN's written reviews are positive against 0% of Good Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rocket VPN ships an update every 4 days, Good Maps weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
