# Talky vs App Lock

The clearest difference is review sentiment: App Lock at 100% against Talky's 33%. App Lock also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.4). Talky's advantage is ratings volume (32 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Talky sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and App Lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talky has 32 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Talky's written reviews are positive against 100% of App Lock's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
