# SuperFan vs Jalowen

The clearest difference is rating: Jalowen at 3.0 against SuperFan's 1.5. SuperFan's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 12 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jalowen sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. SuperFan asks for nothing beyond the download.

Jalowen holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SuperFan has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of SuperFan's written reviews are positive against 0% of Jalowen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SuperFan ships an update every 3 weeks, Jalowen every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
