# Devil Slayer vs Wizards Codex

The clearest difference is rating: Devil Slayer at 4.8 against Wizards Codex's 4.0. Devil Slayer also leads on ratings volume (47 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Wizards Codex's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 71%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Devil Slayer sells 20 one-off in-app purchases and Wizards Codex sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Devil Slayer holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Devil Slayer has 47 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Devil Slayer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Wizards Codex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Devil Slayer ships an update every 3 weeks, Wizards Codex every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
