# SelfElite vs Lingoda

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SelfElite at none against Lingoda's 4. SelfElite also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Lingoda's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (174 vs 4). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lingoda sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $99.99 per month. SelfElite asks for nothing beyond the download.

SelfElite holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lingoda has 174 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SelfElite ships an update every 2 weeks, Lingoda every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
