# CAFELAX vs PetaPen

The clearest difference is ratings volume: CAFELAX at 216 against PetaPen's 3. PetaPen's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for CAFELAX against 4.7 for PetaPen. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CAFELAX has 216 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CAFELAX ships an update every 2 months, PetaPen every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
