# Untold vs Diary.Chat

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Diary.Chat at none against Untold's 3. Diary.Chat also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). Untold's advantage is ratings volume (2.3K vs 1). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Untold sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Diary.Chat asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Untold against 5.0 for Diary.Chat. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Untold has 2.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Untold ships an update every 3 weeks, Diary.Chat every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
