# Speed reading vs CardWeb

The clearest difference is update cadence: CardWeb at every 4 days against Speed reading's every 5 weeks. CardWeb also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Speed reading's advantage is ratings volume (145 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed reading sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and CardWeb sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CardWeb holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed reading has 145 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speed reading ships an update every 5 weeks, CardWeb every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
