# Coursology vs Transcript

Coursology and Transcript both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 76% of Transcript's written reviews are positive against 16% of Coursology's. Transcript also leads on ads (none vs shown). Coursology's advantage is ratings volume (4.6K vs 394) and chart position (#189 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coursology sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Transcript sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Coursology holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coursology has 4.6K ratings behind it against 394, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of Coursology's written reviews are positive against 76% of Transcript's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Coursology ships an update every 2 weeks, Transcript every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
