# Coursology vs Notely

The clearest difference is monetization model: Coursology at free with in-app purchases against Notely's subscription. Coursology also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 321). Notely's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (40% vs 16%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coursology sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Notely sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Coursology holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coursology has 4.6K ratings behind it against 321, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of Coursology's written reviews are positive against 40% of Notely's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Coursology ships an update every 2 weeks, Notely every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
