# Study Circle vs Bites

Study Circle and Bites both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of Study Circle's written reviews are positive against 43% of Bites's. Study Circle also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Bites's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 48). On price, rating, update cadence and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bites sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Study Circle asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Study Circle against 4.6 for Bites. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bites has 2.1K ratings behind it against 48, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of Study Circle's written reviews are positive against 43% of Bites's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
