# Words with Jane vs Hexagonal Word Search

Words with Jane and Hexagonal Word Search both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Words with Jane's written reviews are positive against 0% of Hexagonal Word Search's. Words with Jane also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 12 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Words with Jane sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Hexagonal Word Search sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hexagonal Word Search holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Words with Jane has 160 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Words with Jane's written reviews are positive against 0% of Hexagonal Word Search's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Words with Jane ships an update every 3 weeks, Hexagonal Word Search every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
