# RealityFence vs Cost Estimator

RealityFence and Cost Estimator both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 71% of RealityFence's written reviews are positive against 31% of Cost Estimator's. Cost Estimator's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (353 vs 12). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RealityFence sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $299.00 per month and Cost Estimator sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for RealityFence against 4.6 for Cost Estimator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cost Estimator has 353 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 71% of RealityFence's written reviews are positive against 31% of Cost Estimator's.

RealityFence ships an update every 6 weeks, Cost Estimator every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
