# Text Call vs ReelType

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ReelType at none against Text Call's 15. ReelType also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 69%). Text Call's advantage is ratings volume (600 vs 3) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Call sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. ReelType asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReelType holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Call has 600 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Text Call's written reviews are positive against 100% of ReelType's.

Text Call ships an update fortnightly, ReelType monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
