# CaptionSpeak vs NoBG

The clearest difference is update cadence: NoBG at every 12 months against CaptionSpeak's every 35 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CaptionSpeak sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NoBG sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CaptionSpeak ships an update every 35 months, NoBG every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
