# Tangled Social vs iFANN

The clearest difference is ads: Tangled Social at none against iFANN's shown. Tangled Social also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). iFANN's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 80%) and ratings volume (34 vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tangled Social holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iFANN has 34 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Tangled Social's written reviews are positive against 100% of iFANN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tangled Social ships an update every 2 months, iFANN every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
