# Lens vs Tool Identifier

The clearest difference is rating: Lens at 4.4 against Tool Identifier's 1.0. Lens also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lens sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Tool Identifier sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lens holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lens has 1.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Lens ships an update every 2 weeks, Tool Identifier every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
